It's American Craft Beer Week and we're celebrating! We've joined CraftBeer.com's campaign to recognize small craft beer. Breweries across the country are making the same recipe (an Imperial Porter). Here's what they have to say:
"Small and independent craft brewers in America have earned the respect of every beer-making nation in the world. Your quality, creativity, and craftsmanship is unmatched both domestically and abroad. Naturally, your fans believe you're a Big deal. So let’s give craft beer made by small and independent brewers the spotlight and recognition it deserves by creating a united front for American Craft Beer Week: a movement to #MakeSmallBrewersHuge during ACBW. This will be a unified voice for the craft beer industry, as well as platform to brew the biggest small beer ever made."
The head brewer at the 49th State - Anchorage, Greg Mills, took this project on and has the imperial porter ready to for enjoyment at the first-ever, Alaska Crafted festival which will be held in downtown Anchorage on Saturday, May 21! More than 20 brewers and distillers from across the state will come together for an outdoor beer and spirits tasting event that you don't want to miss! This premier event will celebrate Alaska’s emerging craft beverage industry with tastings, live music, local eats, educational seminars and product demonstrations.
The Alaska Crafted festival is for ages 21+ and will be held on F St. between 6th and 7th Ave. Tickets are $75 each, or $120 for two tickets, and can be purchased at www.alaskacrafted.com.
